Frequently Asked Questions

Is the pricing really this straightforward?

Yes! We’re proud of having no hidden fees. Here’s what you can count on:

  • No snapshot fees. No snapshot storage, read, or write charges on compute.
  • No per-request storage charges. Object storage operations aren’t metered.
  • No seat limits. List rates are public — until 500+ TB egress.
  • Per-second billing. Simple metering; you pay only while running.
Is Datum really free right now?

Yes. During public beta you get access to the full platform at no cost. Credit card required on sign up to help prevent fraudulent activity.

Will I be charged automatically when beta ends?

No. We commit to notifying you well in advance and giving you a grace period to review rates and decide before any billing begins. You won’t receive an unexpected bill.

Do you charge for support or seats?

There is no per-seat or per-user licensing. Pricing is usage-based only — invite your whole team.

What if I go over the free data transfer tier?

Egress past the first 200 GB/month is billed at the tiered rates in the Data Transfer tables above, and rates drop automatically as volume grows.
